    Make 45 Degree Cutting Plant

    Rose Cutting
    Rose Cutting

I cut the rose to 6 inches and cut all cutting at 45 degrees. Cutting which is young and thin will not grow. Because they don’t have the energy to grow roots take a mature or semi-wood cutting for the best result. I removed all the leaves from the cutting. I made 45 degrees of cut just below the node area, remember to cut just below the node area. Then those cuttings are ready for growing.  No root hormone war is used for cutting.

    Soiling the Cutting Plant

I have put the 6 cuttings into the mixing soil. The soil mixture was 50% cocopeat, 30% Soil, and 20% sand. I gave water to the soil mix. I maintained the moisture for better growth.

    Covering the Cutting Plant

I covered the pot with a poly bag. I had to wait for 5 days to check the growth of rose cutting. After 10 days, the green leaves’ new shoot has come. It is seen as a rainy type of environment. No water has been given in the pot. Only 1 hour of sunlight was given to cuttings. All the cuttings have grown. And I have to cover it again and remove the excess water. And there was a single leaf opening for making holes.

Removing the Cover of the Plant

After 14 days, I made holes as the leaf part had grown. Also, extra water has come out from the holes. No extra water has been given. And I have been waiting for all leaf to open clearly. After getting all the leaves, I removed the poly bag. After 18 days, it was seen all the cutting had grown and roots took 40-45 days for proper growth. Then kept cutting in the shed where it could receive 1 hour of sunlight. If more sunlight is given then the cutting will get dry. Then I was given water after 18 days.

    Transplanting the Cutting Plant

When I bought this plant, then only planted it in an earthen pot. Not in ceramic, plastic, or cement. The pot should be of clay and try to plant 1 rose in at least 10-inch pots. I plant it in 8 inches too.

    Fertilizing the Cutting Plant

After 24 days, more leaves came with small flower buds when I cut the flower and fertilized it. At the same time, I had to give very good fertilizer after digging the soil. It would be better if you give compost. You can put any compost in it. It can be Cow dung, kitchen compost, and vermicompost. I gave more nutrients in this clay tub like kitchen compost. Then put a soil mix consisting of 50% sand, 30 % garden soil, and 20% cocopeat for proper growth of the cutting plant. Then watered it thoroughly.

It has been flowering again after about 20-25 days. After being pruned, the rose becomes silent. It slowly started growing again and then flowers again. If their health is good, then they will get daily flowers in them. But Rose follows a pattern.

How Much Sun does It Need?

The rose plant can get as much sunlight for 8hrs, 7hrs, or 6hrs. Some people garden on the balcony, where there is not much sunlight. But it should get at least 4 hours of sunlight.

    Pest Management

Since the rose has thrones, big insects will not attack. But insects like aphids, mealy bugs, and brown pests will attack it. If it is infected then spray neem oil. 5ml neem oil in 1 liter of water weekly twice for 2 weeks and then a maintenance dose of at least monthly once or once in 15 days.

    Harvesting the Flower

The flowers started withering and harvested. After harvesting, I gave fertilize and after fertilization it produced buds. And it flowers in exactly 24-25 days, then it is at its peak. It withered again, and I harvested and fertilized in this way the rose follows the pattern.

Important Tips for Repotting the Nursery Plant

When you bring the plant from the nursery, do not keep it in the sun. If you keep it in the sun, this plant will get scorched. For 2 days you have to keep it in the shade, but not in the dark area. There should be light but not direct sunlight. If it is fine for 2 days, then you will keep in the sun for 3 days. If its soil is drying in the middle, then give water. Meanwhile you have to keep it in the sun for 3 days. Then keep it under observation for 5 days. If it is healthy for 5 days, do the repotting of your plant. If the rose plant is in clay or sandy soil, that means it is in brown soil, then do not remove its soil. But if it is in red soil, then I remove its soil completely.

First of all, remove the polythene carefully. This red soil has to be removed slowly-slowly. So, we will dip in the water. There are 2 advantages of dipping in water. First, the soil will dissolve in water. Secondly, the roots which have been exposed to air will also recover after getting water. As long as it is soaked in water, we will prepare its pot.

For preparing the pot, first of all, we will cover the hole and you can cocopeat without any tension. Then mix 50% sand, 30% cocopeat, and 20% organic compost. If the roots of the red rose plant get set, then they should not be disturbed at all. Be it cutting or a plant. If the flowers are about to winter, I will be cutting them. As I have told you in starting.
